With the General Contracting delivery model, the owner starts by retaining an architect or engineer to design the project. After drawings are complete, a general contractor such as ADI Atlantic is selected through a sole source or competitive bid process. This model may appeal to clients who have the resources or experience to contract multiple construction partners and to those who wish to play a more active role in the project.
As the general contractor, ADI Atlantic is responsible for providing all the material, labour, equipment, and other services necessary for the construction of the project. As an owner, you have a shared risk in controlling some aspects of the project, but lump sum pricing for the actual construction helps you control costs.
ADI Atlantic will take care of securing property and building permits, maintaining schedules and cash flow, and disposing of/recycling construction waste. We work with specialized subcontractors to ensure quality construction standards and work closely with the owner and architect/engineer to meet deadlines and budget.
